Where you get ready on you wedding day can set the tone for the entire rest of the day, and can make the difference between a relaxed, enjoyable morning and one full of tension and nerves! There is much to be said for the sweetness and comfort of getting ready at home, but sometimes getting read at a hotel is truly the best and easiest option. If that’s the case, here are the 10 best DC hotels for getting ready on your wedding day… plus an additional 10 to consider if the first list doesn’t suit your needs!

A few quick notes: if you want excellent photographs from the morning of your wedding, make sure your getting ready space has large windows, quiet (or wedding-coordinating) decor, and ample space for you and your wedding party to congregate without the presence of clutter! When in doubt, get a larger room!

1. Hay-Adams

Arguably my favorite hotel in the city for weddings, the historic Hay-Adams is about as classic as they come! Overlooking Lafayette Square Park with views of the White House and Washington Monument, there truly is no more iconic hotel in the city. The rooms are spacious and well-appointed, with comfortable furnishings. The decor is classic and neutral-toned, so there’s no concern that the background might clash with wedding day colors. And the hotel is on a city corner, so every room has large windows!
