For me, it has always been about the story.
Growing up with a book glued to my hand, stories were how I made sense of life, how I shaped my view of myself & my world, and how I grew an understanding of the people around me.
Reading stories of real people gave me the unshakeable belief that every individual person has a story worth telling, that true stories of grace occur in the world every day, and that the stories we tell and retell shape the course of our futures.
In other words, that your story matters.
When I photograph you, I hold a vision of the you that will exist fifty years in the future, telling your grandchildren who they are, where it began, and what happened in the in between. The fierce love and the quiet love, the moments hard fought and won, and the moments that didn’t need a fight. The story of you, of family formation, of the legacy you choose to pass on.
