I pursued international nonprofit photojournalism before stumbling into wedding photography in 2008 and realizing it was a career perfectly scripted for me. More than ten years later, I truly believe I have the best job in the world.
There are plenty of other superficial things I could share about myself— I love dark chocolate and red wine, I love DC for its grand architecture and rich history, I have a husband I adore, a strong marriage, two darling children, a quaint old brick home, and a never-dying love for strong coffee.
But if you really want to know me, here are a few things that matter:
even when no one else is.
and that it’s worth working for
and ending each night with a kiss
have moments of joy worth celebrating.
and that wedding photos contribute to both.
and that relationships trump the bottom line.
than a perfect body
but that the imperfection of real life is beautiful.
that will stand the test of time.
and in never saying no when Buck asks me to dance.
and their story is worth telling.
I’ve said it before, but I mean it so much more now than I used to— I love photographing weddings because I love marriage. It is the best thing that ever happened to me, and I want to do all I can to help my couples grow their love and commitment to each other, because it really does make all the difference in the world.
