Katy and Taylor’s began in high school with romantic chance meeting during a 4th of July celebration, and were inseparable from the moment the literal and proverbial sparks flew. After graduation, they faithfully wrote letters back and forth while Taylor was stationed at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. It’s no surprise that Katy’s heart saw her attending college at the University of Denver, a mere 55 mile drive from her beau! After college, they both went to different states for jobs, but never wavered in their love. In June 2017, eleven days before relocating to Hawaii, Taylor proposed while the two were hiking back home in Maryland!
Their Summer rooftop wedding at The Capitol View at 400 was the culmination of over a decade of the love and devotion that these two share. Katy got ready with her bridesmaids in her childhood home, while Taylor and his groomsmen spent the morning at The Jefferson Hotel. After donning her timeless Amsale gown, Katy met Taylor at the Jefferson Memorial for their first look and portraits. The wedding party joined them before they all set out for the church. After a ceremony at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, guests headed to cocktail hour while the newlyweds and classmates from Gonzaga College High School stopped for a picture on the football field! Taylor & Katy took a spin around the Capitol in a friends vintage convertible before joining their friends and family for an al fresco dinner overlooking the Capitol.
