Timeless Gold & White Wedding at the Dumbarton House in Georgetown
Scott & Gillian hold a very dear place in my heart. From the first moment I met them for their engagement session, I knew their wedding would be set apart as one of my favorite events ever. They share a kind of steadfast, joyful, “Never Ever Giving Up” kind of love that looks at adversity and laughs in it’s face, and I count myself lucky to be given the opportunity to document their wedding day.
This was my first wedding back after having London, and I was so nervous that I wasn’t up to the challenge. And it certainly was a challenging day— the rain was relentless. It started drizzling the moment Gillian stepped out of the car for the first look, and didn’t stop until she walked down the aisle. But that couldn’t dampen the happiness that showed on every single face that day!! No one could deny that this couple is dearly, deeply loved, and worth joyous celebration. And I still feel so incredibly honored to have been chosen as their photographer. Gillian and her sweet mother wanted this to be a “jewel of a wedding,” and Dumbarton House’s lush gardens and classic architecture provided the perfect backdrop.
As always, the day couldn’t have happened without this incredibly team:
