Romantic Winter Wedding at Josephine Butler Historic House
I love all of the weddings I get to photograph, but when I’m friends with the couple (even before they were a couple!!), it makes my heart so happy. Mathew & Mary Beth are so perfectly suited for each other, and it was such a joy to photograph their romantic winter wedding at the beautiful Josephine Butler Historic House.
Their wedding just happened to fall on the coldest day in February (I think we had a high of 12 that day??), so we utilized some of DC’s amazing indoor spaces for all of their portraits— National Gallery of Art’s East Wing for their First Look, and the National Building Museum for wedding party and couple portraits. All in all, it was a perfect day!
This team made the day a joy:
Wedding Venue: Josephine Butler Parks Center | Planning/Coordinator: Alex Meyer Events | DJ & Entertainment Services: Karl Magnussen | Cake: Megan Adams | Catering: Main Event Caterers | Dress Boutique: Diane’s Formal Affair | Makeup Artist: Stylisttogo | Hair Stylist: Sara Edwards of Sadie Like | Florist: Katy Gale, Praiseworthy Petals | Groomsmen: Men’s Wearhouse | Invitations: Smith’s Variety
PS— I photographed this wedding 35 weeks pregnant with London! I’ll tell you, I worked out all throughout my pregnancy specifically to be able to capture their day, and didn’t have any problems. Even so, I couldn’t have done it without Abby Grace‘s help— she kindly assisted me that day, and was my “insurance” in case anything happened. So thankful for her!
