Iconic Black Tie Wedding Hay-Adams Hotel

They met and fell in love in the nation’s Capitol, so it only made sense for Omar & Laura to seal their love at an iconic Washington, DC venue. The Hay-Adams was the perfect setting for their black tie affair. From their first look in one of the Hay-Adams’ lovely suites, to portraits in Lafayette Square Park, to an evening of dancing and fun in view of the White House, their wedding was classic romance and excellent taste from start to finish— a perfect reflection of this couple.

Omar & Laura opted to do a First Look (quote emotional, as you can see below), which allowed us time to do all family portraits and wedding party portraits, and capture some iconic Bride & Groom portraits— all before the ceremony! This doesn’t always work within the wedding day schedule or the couples’ preference, but I love when couples get the chance to mingle with their nearest & dearest during cocktail hour. The reception flies by in the blink of an eye, almost too fast to remember or enjoy— and from my experience, couples who join part or all of their cocktail hour end up feeling more connected with their guests, and more relaxed throughout their wedding day.
