When Edwin and Anna-Louisa met through a mutual friend in DC, they not only found love, but a shared international heritage that brought them even closer together. When planning their New Years Eve wedding at the Decatur House (one year ago today!!), they wanted to capture a feeling, more than a look. From her satin Louboutin slingback heels, to the chantilly lace appliques on her Mikaella gown, there were classic and elegant nods to Anna-Louisa’s French heritage everywhere.
The Hay-Adams Hotel offered the perfect place for the bridal party to get ready before Edwin and Anna-Louisa’s first look on the rooftop overlooking the White House and the Washington Monument. Their romantic portraits outside the Hay-Adams Hotel and the Eisenhower Executive Office Building felt like they were transported right to Paris! Their bridal party then joined them for portraits at the Decatur House before their evening ceremony. The newlyweds and their guests rang in the new year with a candlelit dinner, dancing to the Bachelor Boys Band, and a sparkler exit at midnight. What a wonderful way to start a new year, and their new journey together as husband and wife! Happy First Anniversary, you two!
Thank you to the vendors who made their day so fantastic:
