CAMEL— the fourth in my ongoing personal project series on Color Theory!

Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come — Proverbs 31:25

I love this verse, and the picture of gracious womanhood that God paints for us in His Word. A strong woman is an excellent woman. Dignity, “the state or quality of being worthy of honor or respect; also, self-respect” is a mark of a virtuous, God-fearing woman. And she has no fear of the future, but laughs at the “what-ifs.” This is no woman enslaved to anxiety, but free to dream of possibilities and a hopeful future.

This was the verse I held in my mind throughout this shoot— partly because I think the poses, setting, and color tones perfectly capture the concept, but also because our model, my friend Talaso, embodies this as a person, and helps other women to do the same. She works with refugees of human trafficking to build and restore their lives, teaches them an industry (jewelry making… she hand made many of the pieces we used in this shoot!!), and advocates for them, but professionally as part of her day job, and personally, by investing in their lives in her free time. Gracious and strong— that’s what I know of her, and those are words I most want to emulate in my personal life.

This was my inspiration board:

We stuck to neutrals and a camel-toned background, dried florals and modern lines. The team below blew this shoot out of the house…
