Preppy Summer Congressional Country Club Wedding

Preppy Summer Congressional Country Club Wedding

Washington Island, Wisconsin. Summer at the lake. Two 12-year-olds meet and form a fast friendship that, unfortunately, ends with the summer warmth, despite their attempts to stay in touch by letter-writing. For most middle school romances, that’s the end of the story. But Nick & Caitlin were meant to be together. They reconnected in Chicago, ten years later, and it took almost no time for both of them to know this was serious. After several months of long-distance dating, Caitlin relocated from Miami to Chicago, and they have been happily together ever since.

Nick & Caitlin’s wedding was timelessly elegant, and full of small, thoughtful details and memories that acknowledged the family traditions and personal histories that formed both of them. The ceremony was held at the same Church were Caitlin was baptized, and the reception took place at Congressional Country Club, where her family held membership for two generations. Caitlin wore her grandmother’s pearl earrings, and Nick wore his grandfather’s wedding ring. They rode to and from the Church in Caitlin’s grandfather’s 1966 SS Chevelle, and each guest left the evening with maple syrup from Nick’s great uncle’s farm on Washington Island, where his family has lived for more than a century.

But best of all, they were absolutely surrounded by friends and family who love them deeply, and happily celebrated their hearts out for this wonderful couple.
