Multicultural Wedding at The Corcoran
Sam & Jaime. I loved this wedding. I met and became friends with both of them before they met each other, and it has been such a joy to document so many parts of their story— hiding behind a tree in a snowstorm to document Sam’s proposal, photographing and dancing with Sam’s Indian family during their engagement party, and then their wedding.
It was a perfect day. Jaime got up early to go for a run and make muffins before her bridesmaids arrived at her apartment to get ready. They talked and chatted throughout the morning, and had their own miniature dance party as soon as Jaime donned her dress. Sam was his usual self that morning, thoughtful about serious things and treating everything else with a generous dose of sarcastic humor. Their ceremony was sweet and meaningful, ending with the 30 Rock theme song as their recessional. We did wedding party portraits near the Capitol, and then Sam & Jaime requested portraits in the Metro, which was so much fun. Their reception was at The Corcoran Gallery of Art, where guests laughed and dined and danced the night away.
The following vendors made the day perfect:
Wedding Planner: Grit & Grace | Venue: Corcoran Museum | Photographer: Sarah Bradshaw | Florist: Brook Hill Florist | Hair & Makeup: Claudine Fay | Catering: Design Cuisine | DJ: DJ D-Mac
Claudine Fay did a fantastic job on Jaime’s hair and makeup. One of my favorite getting ready images to date.
Gorgeous flowers by BrookHill Florist! And don’t you just love these hot pink clutches against the soft grey?
Jaime’s eyes. I mean, can we please say wow??
Sam had lots of family come over from India for their wedding. These grandparents were darling.
Sam loved his DC Metro Map cufflinks!
It was wonderful to work with Laura of Events in the City!
Last week I was given the immense privilege of having Sam & Jaime’s wedding featured on Style Me Pretty‘s Little Black Book Blog. Please click here to see more of their lovely wedding!!
