Tyler & Tessa’s Modern Autumn Wedding at Meridian House, as seen on Washingtonian Weddings!

Their wedding design echoed the romance of old world Europe… with a few modern twists. The classic architecture of Meridian House set a tone of elegance and tradition, while warm neutrals tones and textured dried florals provided a gentle contrast. Tessa’s gown, a stunning Vera Wang with modern lines, was softened by the elegant drape of detachable sleeves. The couple chose to give nod to Tessa’s Greek heritage throughout the day, with olive branches in floral arrangements and Greek “evil eyes” at each place setting, both imported directly from Greece by family members.

Tyler & Tessa chose to do a first look and exchange private vows before the ceremony, and their tenderness and love for one another had us all in tears. The setting, the rooftop of The Line DC, was the perfect backdrop! Doing a first look and portraits before the ceremony also allowed the couple to join cocktail hour with family & friends in Meridian House’s Linden Grove, where they shared their first dance under cafe lights before moving into dinner. After dancing, which included traditional Greek dances as well as a Top Gun-inspired serenade to Tessa (Tyler is a Navy Pilot, after all), they ended the night with a sparkler sendoff.
