French and Japanese Inspired Wedding at Larz Anderson House

French and Japanese Inspired Wedding at Larz Anderson House

Classic bride hand-painted mural Anderson House

Jackson & Sarah’s French- and Japanese-inspired wedding at Larz Anderson House in DC was, in the words of one of their guests, “Such a perfect representation of them as a couple.”

Well-traveled, well-educated, and well-dined, Sarah & Jackson focused on giving their guests an exquisite cultural experience at Anderson House. Inspired by travels to France and Japan, their design included personal touches and thoughtful cultural nods—vintage blue chinoiserie plates for dinner, table numbers based on Parisian house numbers,  and ikebana-inspired floral arrangements. French blue tones unified the design throughout the day in the form of bridesmaids’ dresses, florals, and Sarah’s Manolo Blahnik’s, and her bateau dress was inspired by Audrey Hepburn in Sabrina.

More beautiful than the cohesive design, Sarah & Jackson’s thoughtfulness was the highlight of the day. Jackson wrote Sarah a love letter on a vintage typewriter, which she read just after stepping into her gown. Guest escort cards were displayed in envelopes containing a handwritten note from the couple to each guest. Their first dance was to “Married Life,” the iconic opening music to the Pixar’s UP.

The following vendors made the day perfect:
