Jaser and Amelia’s Exotic and Elegant DC Wedding at the Mellon Auditorium was a romantic fusion of East and West. They met in a college Lit class about Arabian Nights at Cornell University and four years threw the global celebration of their love. The couple celebrated with three magnificent receptions in Washington DC, Dubai, and India. Julie from Strawberry Milk Events planned the DC celebration, and brought me in to photograph details!

The bride, a fashion designer in New York City, designed her own wedding gown, complete with 1,001 fresh water pearls. Vintage Louboutin heels with an Indian brocade motif, and a custom-designed choker with freshwater pearls completed the outfit. Amelia also illustrated their wedding invitations!

For their reception, they turned Mellon Auditorium into a modern oasis in the middle of the city! Tropical greens, bronze lamps, and white laser-cut cabanas transported guests to an Arabian night with top notch style. They created intimate and unique spaces using sheer chiffon draping, small lounge areas, and a dance floor dappled with bistro lights.
