Each personalized detail of a wedding day comes together to tell the love story of the bride and groom. There is no better way to have a heartfelt wedding day than tying the knot at your family home. Daryel and Caroline planned a beautiful spring wedding at the bride’s parents’ home in South Carolina full of bold colors and ultra-personal details.

Being in the military prompted Daryel and Caroline to elope, but a larger celebration with their loved ones was always in the plans. They opted for an at-home soiree to feel close to the bride’s late father and to honor the tradition the family has of hosting friends and family at their home for epic celebrations.

Caroline’s nickname is “Buggy” and this became a whimsical design element to incorporate throughout their wedding day. Insect paintings hung on a custom bar front, a custom seating chart display with framed insects guided guests to their seats, and metal insect napkin rings were at each place setting. Although the insects and bugs are an unusual wedding decor theme, it was a lovely nod to the bride’s nickname and added an elegant nature aesthetic to the wedding day. Paired with rainbow florals in lush arrangements and centerpieces, it was a seamless way to bring the outdoors into their wedding tent in the backyard complete with a black and white striped ceiling. 

The bride’s mom collected silverware, wine glasses, champagne glasses, water glasses, and plates for years in preparation for this party. Many items from the bride’s mom’s collection of tableware & home decor were included in the overall wedding design, including champagne buckets for some of the floral arrangements and the vintage persian rugs for the wedding ceremony aisle runner. The goal for the wedding day was to make the event feel like the couple and like the guests were coming over for just another family soiree.
