I’m always so thrilled when couples are willing to step outside their comfort zones and get a little creative with their portraits. Matt & Ellen didn’t have a set vision for their engagement session— they just knew they wanted it in the city. And I’d wanted to do an after-sunset session near the Lincoln Memorial for a long time. When I suggested they idea, they jumped at it, and I’m so proud of what we created together.

We started with more casual portraits at the Kennedy Center, and then moved to the Memorial Bridge to capture the Lincoln in the background. These will forever be favorites!
