Venue Spotlight: High Hampton

Luxury mountain destination wedding venue with log cabin feel. High Hampton in North Carolina, Sarah Bradshaw Photography

As a destination wedding photographer, I have the honor of experiencing many different properties and locations, and couples searching for a luxurious Southern mountain wedding venue that will provide the wow factor for their big day without the need for a passport will enjoy as I take them on a wedding venue tour of High Hampton in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina.

If a tropical beach location is not your style for a vacation or destination wedding, you are in luck as I am sharing one of my personal favorite luxury mountain Southern wedding destinations. Nestled in Western North Carolina you will find High Hampton, a historic mountain luxury property that has been a weekend destination for families since the early 1920’s. Just a few hours’ drive from Greenville, SC, Charlotte, NC, and Atlanta, GA, High Hampton is the perfect destination wedding venue that is full of Southern rustic charm, making it the ideal choice for Southern weddings looking for a unique, high-end wedding weekend location without having to leave in the United States.

The Inn was recently restored to its historical glory with no shortage of modern amenities added, perfect for a destination wedding in the South without a passport. Surrounded by mountains and a private lake, the natural beauty of this high-end mountain destination wedding property is breathtaking. In addition to the main Inn building, a number of cottages are available to stay in, providing accommodation options fit for a wedding of any size. The great thing about a destination wedding on a property with so many options for all of the different wedding activities from the welcome party to the farewell reception is the opportunity it gives the couple to spend more time with their guests since everyone is staying at one location all weekend long.

If you are exploring destination wedding venues and unexpected places to get married in the Blue Ridge Mountains region, I highly recommend touring High Hampton. The natural beauty and luxurious mountain vibes are truly unparalleled in the South and will leave you and your guests with a breathtaking and unforgettable wedding weekend experience.

I recently toured this rustic chic mountain lodge location and took a few photographs during my stay at High Hampton. I am happy to share this luxury mountain wedding venue idea for couples looking to plan a destination wedding in the South that is easy to get to and will wow your guests.
