In addition to photographing real weddings and engagement sessions, and, of course, lots of high fashion bridal runways, I love any opportunity to document milestone moments with photographs families will cherish for many more birthdays to come. I traveled to the beautiful farmlands of Middleburg, Virginia recently to photograph a 50th birthday weekend celebration.

From start to finish, each element of this weekend was carefully curated to care for their guests and ensure that they felt the love. Each guest was treated to custom welcome gifts full of local Virginia-inspired treats upon their arrival. An al fresco birthday dinner party was planned with chic, farmhouse-style details that perfectly matched the countryside location and allowed the gorgeous location to really shine.

Lounge seating was set up for the birthday party guests to mingle during cocktail hour where signature drinks were served. Long farmhouse-style wooden tables awaited guests under a tent with a boho-chic design. I loved the neutral color palette used throughout the party’s decor and tablescape design that tied into the natural setting of the party’s outdoor country location. Table centerpieces made of dried floral elements, including greenery and white blooms, graced the dinner tables that featured woven rattan placemats and custom menu place cards.
