“I think the moment you realize you’re in love with your best friend, is the moment you know they’re the one…” and isn’t that all any of us could ask for? Tom and Rachel‘s Romantic Candlelight Italian Wedding at the Andrew Mellon Auditorium was as heartfelt, thoughtful, and tender as the couple themselves.
Playing off of the timeless architecture, marble, and gilt details within the Mellon Auditorium, the couple chose navy as a complimenting color. They adorned the tables with gold votives and candlesticks to bring warmth to the large space. Well-placed lighting and draping by Atmosphere, Inc. gave a sense of intimacy to the celebration, in spite of the 300 person guest list, and a pasta starter in place of a salad course made guests feel welcomed to a family dinner table.
Much of the food and drink served represented special places for the couple— Chicken Parm sliders as a nod to Tom’s Brooklyn roots, and Crab Cake Sliders for Rachel’s DC upbringing. There were also signature cocktails to celebrate their honeymoon location of France, as well as their current home of NYC. Mini bottles of Georgetown Olive Oil made the perfect Italian favor.
