Thoroughly Washingtonian Wedding at Meridian House in Washington DC

Thoroughly Washingtonian Wedding at Meridian House in Washington DC

Saber Arch at a military wedding at Meridian House in Washington, DC - Sarah Bradshaw Photography

When Abby attended a Model United Nations conference while in college, she had no idea that saying “yes” to dinner with the cute guy with the charming smile would result in the love of her life. But their love started there (over ice cream after dinner), and carried them through nine years of dating, duty stations, and deployments while Jack served as a Naval Aviator. When he got down on one knee during a post-deployment getaway, Abby already knew the answer: yes, forever.

Most will remember their iconic engagement session featuring sweet Fox Terrier Henry. Their wedding was also a thoroughly Washingtonian affair, with their shared passion for politics reflected throughout the wedding weekend— from getting ready at the Historic Willard Hotel, to a reading from a love letter written by Ronald Reagan to his wife Nancy on Air Force One in 1983.

Of course this wedding couldn’t possibly have happened without a fantastic team of vendors:
