DC Black Tie Mayflower Hotel Wedding by Sarah Bradshaw Photography

Sarah and Engin met in law school where they were in all of the same classes their first year. On the first day of class, Sarah showed up late, and one of the only seats left was next to Engin. They ended up in the same study group through mutual friends, started studying together, and became friends… until second semester when Engin asked Sarah out to dinner and a movie.

In their time together, Sarah and Engin have supported each other through law school and the bar exam, made time for exciting trips, and adopted a lovable mutt named Pepper. On their post bar exam trip to Greece and Turkey in August 2015, after two and a half years of dating, Engin proposed under a tree-covered archway in Athens. 

Their wedding day was a joyous joining of family and cultures— the ceremony had readings in both English and Turkish (for Engin’s grandparents), and their reception (in the Mayflower Hotel’s newly renovated Grand Ballroom) had open seating and a large dance floor for their guests to mingle and enjoy.
