When Abby attended a Model United Nations conference while in college, she had no idea that saying “yes” to dinner with the cute guy with the charming smile would result in the love of her life. But their love started there (over ice cream after dinner), and carried them through nine years of dating, duty stations and deployments while Jack served as a Naval Aviator. When he got down on one knee during a post-deployment getaway, Abby already knew the answer: yes, forever. Their wedding was a thoroughly Washingtonian affair, with their shared passion for politics reflected throughout the wedding weekend— from getting ready at the Historic Willard Hotel, to a reading from a love letter written by Ronald Reagan to his wife Nancy on Air Force One in 1983.
I never get tired of weddings.
I tear up at almost every first kiss.
I think pretty & styled is nice, but real life is beautiful.
I would rather cook for a friend than buy a meal out.
I care more about having a beautiful soul than a perfect body.
I cherish every lingering morning, and end every night with a kiss.
I believe marriage is one of the greatest earthly gifts anyone can receive.
I believe in telling your story, not my own version of it.
