Best of Engagements 2018

Filed in:

2018 was such a fun year for engagements!! Surprise cherry blossom photos, three NYC engagement sessions, and plenty of #SunriseattheLincoln.  But as always, it’s the couples, not the locations, that make engagement sessions so special.

I love engagement sessions for several reasons:

  1. It gives me the chance to get to know my couples and their love stories on a deeper level before the wedding day. It gives context to the events of the wedding! And this builds trust between me and my couples, so their wedding day portraits are relaxed!
  2. It gives us the chance to find the poses and angles that work best for each couple (without the time-pressure of a wedding day schedule), so their wedding portraits are perfect!
  3. The wedding day photographs are incredibly significant, but there’s something really special about having portraits in everyday places and spaces— especially if a couple meets and falls in love in and around these spaces. I love it when my couples choose engagement session locations that have some significance to their love story (an iconic monument, a special restaurant, or even a time of year).
