They met at a BBQ in Chicago in 2013, and quickly moved from “he’s that funny guy who made weird jokes” to “OMG when can I see you again.” Fast forward to 2017, the two were at a Gareth Emery show on New Years Eve when Max whispered to her that this would be the year they got engaged. After months of patiently waiting, the couple found themselves at another Gareth Emery show in November. Max, with the help of his friends, made a circle on the floor around Jorian. He kneeled, asking her to spend forever with him to the cheering and thunderous applause of the whole venue!
Max & Jorian planned their Jewish wedding at Washington DC’s historic Union Station, and took decorating cues from the venue— marble hexagons as escort cards to mimic the ceiling tiles, hunter green tones to compliment their ceremony room, and gold accents. After getting ready at the Liaison Hotel (where the bride did her own makeup), they met for first look and walked together over to Union Station for the Ketubah signing and ceremony. Max & Jorian planned their day with family in mind— their Rabbi (a dear friend) played guitar as he sang the marriage blessings, family members read the traditional 7 blessings to the couple, and they included an ASL interpreter for Jorian’s mother and friends who are deaf.
The epitome of cool, Max & Jorian (who is a wedding planner herself) made sure to give nod to their personal style throughout their reception— cat topiaries, a boxwood wall with neon sign of their new last name, and custom tequila cocktails.
