Behind the Scenes 2017 & 2018

I never got around to blogging my “behind the scenes” from 2017, so I added them 2018’s post. These are always so fun for me to look back on! And a little uncomfortable— I feel so awkward in front of the camera!! Also, motherhood certainly does a number on one’s appearance. When I compare 2018 to 2014’s post, I see how hair, body, and posture have all shifted as a result of my new role as mother. It’s not a bad thing… it’s just interesting to observe.

Hence my goal for 2019 to focus on my health and wellness… to get hair and body to a place I’m proud to show!

I was pregnant for most of the 2018 wedding season… scroll down to the very end to see what it looks like to shoot in the Winter at 8 months pregnant!!

You can see past Behind the Scenes here: 2014, and 2015 & 2016.

PS— since I know I’ll get asked about this, I LOVE shooting weddings in my Emma dress from Virginia Dare Dress Co. It is a thick, structured ponte knit fabric that holds its shape beautifully, sits at the natural waist, and it has pockets. I have a few other dresses I shoot in (including this incredibly affordable one from Amazon), but the VDDC one is my favorite. I also rotate through 3-4 pair of shoes throughout the course of each wedding day, including these Danskos and these flats. Also, I have the feet of an 80-year-old woman, so have to wear custom orthotics in my shoes, as well. I prefer to come up with a “uniform,” of sorts, to take away the pressure of getting dressed on wedding mornings!!

Also, I carry the Ona Capri with me on wedding days (now discontinued), and use this bag for all the gear not on my body (expensive, but WORTH EVERY PENNY— I’ve had mine for 6 years, and it’s still in great condition!!).

From our sweet friends wedding! I photographed it, Buck was emcee, and London was a flower girl! We make a good team. Haha.
